Theft of Batteries From Recycling Centre in Tongue

Police in Sutherland are appealing for information following the theft of a number of used car batteries from a recycling centre near Tongue.

The batteries were removed sometime between 4pm on Thursday, January 4 and 8am the following morning from the Melness Recycling Centre.

Reporting officer Constable Katy Hunter said:

"We are urging anybody who saw any suspicious activity, whether a person or a vehicle, in the area to contact us as soon as you can.

"You can pass any information to police by calling 101, using reference NE260/18, or call 0800 555 111.

"Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
