Appeal for Information Following Fire in Elgin

Officers in Elgin have appealed for information following a fire at a commercial premises in the town in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 10 January 2018).

The fire was reported to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 2.55am this morning and occurred at the Channonry Industrial Estate in Elgin. 

As a result of the fire one tractor and two lorries were damaged.

No one was injured. 

Sergeant Krystle Ross said:

"Enquiries into the fire are at an early stage and we are working closely with colleagues with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to ascertain the cause.

“If anyone such as taxi or delivery drivers saw anything unusual or suspicious in the area in the early hours I would ask them to get in touch with officers. 

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0237 of 10 January.

“Information can also be given anonymously by calling the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
