Operators of smaller hospitality venues on the Isle of Skye can access professional laundry and bed linen and towel rental services for the first time from Fishers Laundry, Scotland’s largest commercial laundry service, in a game changing pilot scheme.
The trial scheme, badged Fishers Local, is aimed at operators of small hotels, guesthouses, bed & breakfasts and self-catering accommodation with 10 bedrooms or less.
The new service means they will no longer have to wash, dry and iron sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels, saving on staff time and utility costs while providing an environmentally friendly solution to ensuring that the bed linen and towels they provide to guests stay in top condition.
Fishers Local’s laundry room will be located in the village of Kyleakin on the island, close to the Skye Bridge.
Service users are required to decide in advance how many pieces of linen and towels they require and will be able to swap used bed linen and towels for fresh supplies on a weekly basis, and for a weekly fixed unit price.
Until now it has not been economic to provide smaller venue operators with this service, but the introduction of this innovative service means that Fishers can provide it from within its existing infrastructure.

“This trial scheme allows us to remove the hassle of washing, drying and ironing bed linen and towels, freeing them up to concentrate on providing Scotland’s world-famous welcome for guests.”
The pilot runs from 1st July until 31st October after which Fishers will review its viability and the feasibility of introducing it elsewhere in Scotland.
The Fishers Local laundry room is located at the Isle of Skye Guest House, Kyleakin, Isle of Skye, IV41 8PQ and is open on Mondays to Saturdays from 10.00am until 2.00pm.
