£600,000 Cocaine Seized Near Fort William

Police officers have recovered Class A drugs with an estimated street value of £600,000 following a vehicle search near Fort William.

The seizure was made at around 1.50pm on Friday 13 March 2026 when officers stopped and searched a car on the A82 just south of the town.

During the search officers discovered a significant quantity of cocaine inside the vehicle.

A 55 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

He is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday 16 March 2026.

Police say the seizure represents a major disruption to the supply of illegal drugs in the Highlands.

Detective Inspector Angus Morrison said the recovery sends a strong signal that police will continue to target serious organised crime.

“This very significant recovery sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.

“Our officers are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the sale of illegal substances, preventing them being circulated on the streets of Scotland and addressing the concerns of local people.

“This action underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.”

Police Scotland say information from the public remains vital in tackling drug related crime.

Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about drug activity in their community to come forward.
