65-Year-Old Man Arrested and Charged Over Man’s Death in Inverness

A 65-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of another man in Inverness.

Police Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in Leachhkin Hill Road around 6pm on Monday, 17 August, 2020.

Emergency services attended and a 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are treating the incident as a suspicious death following a post mortem examination.

The man who died can now be named as John Birrell and his relatives are aware.

The 65-year-old man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court tomorrow (Wednesday, 19 August, 2020).

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
