Improvements works begin on Sunday 8 November for three weeks.
Motorists and pedestrians using the A82 in Fort William will benefit from improved road drainage and footway upgrades as £80,000 worth of improvements are due to begin on Sunday.
The improvements will involve footway resurfacing and upgrades to the existing drainage system on the northbound footway over a section of the road almost 600m long on the North Road in Fort William.
The project is set to begin on Sunday 8 November and is programmed to take up to three weeks to complete.
To help minimise disruption to motorists, the improvements will be carried out between 8pm and 6am each night, with no works planned for Friday or Saturday nights.
The A82 will remain open throughout the project, however temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours to ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as road users.
All traffic management will be removed during the daytime.
To accommodate the footway operations, it will be necessary to close sections of the footway for periods of time with pedestrians diverted to the footway on the opposite side of the carriageway for safety.
Vehicle and pedestrian access to properties will be maintained for the duration of the works.
Strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government Covid-19 guidance, will be in place to ensure all site personnel remain safe once the project gets underway.
New safe operation procedures and risk assessments have also been developed to ensure teams are kept safe throughout the project.
