Drivers using the A9 are being advised of temporary traffic management measures at two locations to allow essential drainage works to be carried out beneath the carriageway.

Temporary traffic signals and a short 140 metre lane closure will be in place from Monday 2 February as part of the works.

The signals will operate 24 hours a day and remain in place until 6.30am on Wednesday 11 February, with no works taking place on Saturday or Sunday.

From Monday 2 February until 6.30am on Friday 6 February, temporary traffic signals will be located around 1 kilometre north of the Lynebeg realignment.

A second phase will then run from Monday 9 February until 6.30am on Wednesday 11 February, with signals positioned approximately 1 kilometre north of the B9154 Moy South junction.

The traffic signals will be manned at all times to help manage traffic flows and minimise disruption for road users.

The measures are required to ensure the safety of both the workforce and motorists, as the drainage installation will take place in close proximity to live traffic on the A9.

Drivers are being encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time where possible while the works are underway.

The timings of the works may be subject to change depending on weather conditions, and motorists are advised to stay alert for updates as the schedule progresses.
