Renewable energy firm AES Solar has announced a new name and identity as aes renewables following its acquisition of Black Isle Renewables in August 2024, marking a significant step in the company’s growth across Moray and the Highlands.
The rebrand comes after a year of investment focused on strengthening the business, developing staff, and supporting communities at a time when many firms in the sector are scaling back.
The company says the change reflects a deliberate decision to look ahead, build local skills, and lay foundations for long term growth in the north of Scotland.
Alongside the new identity, aes renewables has invested in project management and customer service to improve the customer experience and support smoother delivery as demand for renewable energy continues to grow.
The firm says these improvements are intended to bring greater clarity, consistency and long term quality for customers across both domestic and commercial projects.
The new brand is underpinned by the strapline Feeling good energy, which the company says reflects optimism, transparency and confidence in a renewable future.
Jamie Di Sotto, Commercial Director at aes renewables, said:
“Introducing aes renewables is an important step for our business.
“Over the past year we’ve strengthened our operations, invested in our team and focused on building long term capacity across Moray and the Highlands.
“Feeling good energy reflects the experience we want for every customer: positive, supported and confident about their energy future.”
The decision to rebrand during a challenging economic period was described as a statement of confidence in both the region and the future of renewable energy.
The company says it remains firmly rooted in Moray and the Highlands and committed to creating long term opportunities for local people.
aes renewables says the change represents more than a new name or visual identity.
The firm describes it as a renewed commitment to doing things properly, from investing in skills and strengthening its workforce to delivering renewable systems designed to last and supported over the long term.
The business has expanded its expertise in recent years beyond solar installations.
Its services now include heat pumps, EV chargers and battery storage, allowing customers to be supported through their full transition to renewable energy.
Finance Director Lynn Davidson said the integration of Black Isle Renewables had strengthened the business significantly.
“Bringing together the skills and experience of Black Isle Renewables and AES Solar has made us stronger than ever.
“With decades of combined expertise, we are well placed to keep leading the way for Scotland’s renewable future.”
Technical Director Campbell MacLennan said quality remained central to the company’s approach.
“Every installation is designed and built to last.
“We set high standards and take pride in doing things properly.”
The company says its focus now is on sustainable growth that benefits customers, staff and the wider communities it serves.
aes renewables believes that continued investment in people, systems and local capacity will allow it to play a meaningful role in Scotland’s energy transition.
The rebrand formally positions the company for the next stage of its development while retaining its Highland roots and community focus.
