Fundraiser in aid of The Archie Foundation raise £30,000

Local lovers of fizz raised a glass to The Archie Foundation as they celebrated the 2024 Prosecco Picnic at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness.

The event on Saturday afternoon raised more than £30,000 for the local children’s charity, helping to deliver vital support and services to babies, children, and families across the Highlands.

The annual event is organised by Mary Nimmo and Jacqueline Brown of Munro & Noble Solicitors and Estate Agents.

Picnics held over the last three years have raised more than £150,000.

Sponsored by GEG Capital, this year’s picnic moved to the grounds of the Drumossie Hotel to accommodate even more guests.

Around 240 partygoers enjoyed unlimited glasses of prosecco and entertainment by Willie Cameron and the Tumbling Souls, hosted by MC Alex Fleming.

A raffle and auction added to the fundraising total, alongside games and prizes for the best-dressed attendees.

Zoe Grant, The Archie Foundation’s fundraising officer in the Highlands, said the money raised would make a huge difference to the charity’s work.

“We are so grateful to Mary, Jacqueline and everyone who attend the annual Prosecco Picnic, which was another huge success with fantastic live music, great food and plenty of fizz!” she said.

“All the proceeds from the event will go to support our work at the Highland Children’s Unit at Raigmore Hospital and across the Highlands and Islands, providing emotional and financial help to babies, children and their families when they need us most.”
