Appeal After Housebreaking and Theft in Kirkwall

Police in Kirkwall are appealing for information after a house was broken into and valuable items were stolen.

The break-in happened between Sunday afternoon and the early hours of Monday at a property in Buttquoy Park.

A television and a games console were taken during the theft.

Sergeant Ross Masson said enquiries remain ongoing and urged anyone who may have seen something out of place to come forward.

He asked local residents to think back to whether they noticed anything unusual in the area at the time of the break-in.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage that could help with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0294 of 25 August, 2025. Details can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
