Appeal After Serious Motorcycle Crash on A87 at Cluanie

Police are appealing for information following a serious motorcycle crash on the A87 at Cluanie that left three people in hospital.

The collision happened at around 2.55pm on Monday 15 June and involved a black Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle and a grey Yamaha MT-09 Tracer motorcycle.

Emergency services attended the scene and the riders and passengers received medical treatment before being taken to hospital.

The rider of the Royal Enfield, a 42 year old man, and his passenger, a 34 year old woman, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Police said both suffered serious injuries but their conditions are not believed to be life threatening.

The rider of the Yamaha, a 39 year old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his condition has been described as stable.

The A87 was closed for several hours while specialist officers carried out crash investigation work at the scene.

The road reopened at around 10.10pm.

Road policing officers are continuing enquiries to establish exactly how the collision occurred and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Chris Donaldson said:

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

“If you were driving in the area around the time of the crash please check any dash-cam footage you have and call us if you have captured anything.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dash cam footage from the area around the time of the incident, is being urged to contact Police Scotland.

Officers have asked anyone with information to call 101 and quote incident number 1890 of Monday 15 June 2026.
