Appeal for Information After Fatal Crash on A86

Police are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A86 between Laggan and Kinlochlaggan.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 12.50pm on Saturday the 21st of March 2026 after reports of a one vehicle collision.

The driver of a Ford Transit van was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and formal identification is still to be carried out.

Officers have launched enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sergeant Kate Finlayson of the Road Policing Unit said:

“Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“We continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances.”

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have relevant dash cam footage to come forward.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash cam footage from around this time on the A86 and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.”

The road was closed for around eight hours while investigations were carried out, with police thanking the public for their patience during that time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1316 of the 21st of March 2026.

Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal crash and are appealing for witnesses to help establish what happened.
