Police are appealing for help to trace a woman who has gone missing from Inverness.

Amanda Jamieson Smith, 53, was last seen in the Carnarc Crescent area around 11am on Saturday 18 October.

She had been out walking her two dogs, a Border Collie cross and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross and has not been seen since.

Amanda is described as around 5ft 5in tall, of slim build, with long dark hair.

When last seen, she was wearing a white jacket, light blue flared jeans, and white trainers.

Her disappearance has sparked concern among family, friends, and officers, who say it is completely out of character for her to lose contact.

Sergeant Lewis Macleod of Police Scotland said concern is growing as more time passes.

“It is out of character for Amanda not to be in touch with her family and friends and, as time passes, concerns are growing,” he said.

“I am appealing to anyone who has seen Amanda or who may have any information on her whereabouts to contact us.”

He also asked people in the area to check any footage that might help.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch,” he added.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 3200 of 23 October 2025.
