A summer of thrilling European football continues as BBC Scotland confirms it will show Hibernian’s decisive clash with FK Partizan Belgrade live on television.
The UEFA Europa Conference League play-off second leg will air on the BBC Scotland channel on Thursday 14 August, with full coverage starting at 7.45 pm ahead of the 8 pm kick-off.
Hibs fans are in for a gripping evening as David Gray’s side looks to protect a two-goal cushion earned in Belgrade, with Easter Road ready to roar them over the line.
The tie is finely poised, but momentum is on Hibs’ side thanks to a milestone double from Martin Boyle, who notched his 100th and 101st goals for the club in last week’s away leg.
If the Edinburgh side can see off Partizan, they’ll move within touching distance of the group stage, facing either Legia Warsaw or AEK Larnaca next.
Larnaca currently hold the upper hand after a commanding 4-1 first leg victory in Cyprus.
The match adds to BBC Scotland’s growing list of European fixtures shown live this summer, with Rangers and Dundee United also featured in previous rounds.
Head of Commissioning Louise Thornton said the decision to show the Hibs match reflects the broadcaster’s ongoing commitment to bringing big Scottish football nights to fans across the country.
“We’re delighted to bring this crucial European fixture to our audiences,” she said.
“Securing the rights to show Hibs v Partizan continues our commitment to showcasing Scottish clubs on the European stage and follows our coverage of other qualifiers this summer.”
She also noted that the broadcaster’s expanding football line-up includes Scotland international matches, Scottish Cup ties and regular Friday night Championship games.
The return leg promises to be a dramatic evening under the lights, with Hibs fans hoping to witness a moment of club history.
For BBC Scotland, it’s another chance to put Scottish football centre stage.
And for Hibs, it’s all about finishing the job and keeping the European dream alive.
