Belladrum 2023 is Looking Good

Management at Belladrum have unveiled the next wave of artists joining the Belladrum 2023 line-up featuring a selection of acts making their Bella debut and some firm festival favourites.

Set to make their festival debut are Manchester indie pop 4 piece, PALE WAVES

The band won of the 2018 NME Under the Radar Award with their debut studio album, My Mind Makes Noises was released later that year.

The band’s second album, Who Am I? peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart and the record also hit number one on the UK Independent Albums Chart, and the band’s third album, Unwanted was released In August 2022, “Unwanted is in your face, and that’s exactly what I wanted,” Baron-Gracie says resolutely.

“I want Pale Waves to keep growing in this direction.

“Bigger, bolder, and more unapologetic.”

SCOUTING FOR GIRLS are back, they headlined Belladrum way back in 2008.

Throughout their immensely successful career they’ve sold over two million albums, two million singles, had four Brit Award nominations, an Ivor Novello nomination, had four top ten singles, sold-out Wembley Arena, The Royal Albert Hall and most recently sold-out two nights at The London Palladium and had a series of hit singles all of which were inescapable radio smashes.

Two other acts making a very welcome return are a singer-songwriter known for his incredible percussive guitar style, NEWTON FAULKNER; and an act who have become part of the fabric of Bella over the last few years, the non-stop party that is COLONEL MUSTARD & THE DIJON FIVE.

Best known for having sold millions of records worldwide alongside his brother in new wave band Spandau Ballet, as well as his role as Steve Owen in EastEnders and most recently in Channel 4’s Gogglebox, MARTIN KEMP will be bringing his ‘Back to the 80’s’ show for a late night performance on the main stage.

Other acts added to the bill include; a band at the forefront of the Scottish rock scene SPYRES; Fife born singer-songwriter CAMMY BARNES; one of the most exciting emerging UK country artists KATY HURT; Dream-pop duo POSTER PAINTS featuring Simon Liddell (Olympic Swimmers, Frightened Rabbit) and Carla J Easton; emerging singer-songwriter RIANNE DOWNEY; local soul band SCOOTY & THE SKYHOOKS; all female 4 piece DOREC-A-BELLE; dynamic duo THE LAURETTESBROGEAL will join us with the blend of celtic-folk and a contemporary trad; fresh from supporting Peat & Diesel across the UK, RUMAC will also make his debut at Belldarum; CALUM JONES will take to the main stage; while TWEED & TUATH will both appear on the Grassroots Stage over the weekend.

Other late night slots include ABBA MANIA, who will take to the main stage following our Thursday night headliner.

Grassroots will welcome SPIDERS FROM MARS (a tribute to David Bowie) and MACFLOD on the Friday and Saturday nights respectively.

Many more acts will be announced over the coming months including the packed kids and entertainment programme.
