It was another thrilling weekend of shinty across the Highlands and beyond, with goals flying in from youth level to the Premiership and a standout performance from Inverness lighting up the lower leagues.

Finlay Calder was the star of the show in Mowi North Division 2, firing a stunning hat-trick in Inverness’s 8–1 demolition of Strathglass on Friday night.

Jack Leslie chipped in with a brace, while Jack Perry, Nathan Harrison and Finlay Neilson rounded off an emphatic scoreline under the lights.

In the Mowi Premiership, Fort William earned a valuable 3–1 home win over Kyles Athletic.

Lachie Shaw gave the hosts a dream start inside three minutes, and Victor Smith added a brace to seal the points, despite Kyles battling hard to stay in touch.

Newtonmore and Lovat served up a tight affair, with Iain Robinson once again proving decisive.

His double, including a late winner gave Newtonmore a 2–1 victory after James MacPherson had levelled for the visitors.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Kingussie showed no signs of slowing down, sweeping aside Caberfeidh 5–0 with goals from Ruaridh Anderson (twice), Roddy Young, Ryan Borthwick and George Taylor Ramsay.

In the National Division, Glenurquhart edged past Bute in a five-goal thriller.

Leon MacMillan bagged a brace for the islanders, but Daniel MacLean’s 70th-minute strike proved decisive as Glen claimed a 3–2 away win.

Beauly produced a strong showing in North Division 1, beating Strathglass 4–2 thanks to goals from Louie MacLellan, Sean Stewart, Hector MacLennan and Finlay Dunbar.

There was plenty to cheer for supporters in Lewis too, as they powered past their North Division 2 rivals with a 4–0 win, Donnie MacRae scoring twice in a clinical display.

Lochcarron also enjoyed success, overcoming their opponents 2–0 with goals from Douglas and Lexie MacKenzie, a fine afternoon for the family name.

Oban Celtic were the team to watch in South Division 1, putting Ballachulish to the sword in a 5–1 rout.

Kyle MacFarlane grabbed a hat-trick, with Jamie MacFarlane and David Hill adding to the tally.

The youth ranks delivered no shortage of drama either.

Lovat cruised to a 10–0 win over Glasgow Mid Argyll in the U14 MacMaster Cup semi-final, while Skye stormed into the final after putting eight past Kyles Athletic.

George Martin netted four in a sensational display.

In the Mowi women’s game, Skye saw off Badenoch 3–0 in the Premier League, while GMA were in free-scoring form, thrashing Inveraray 14–0 in the South League with five goals apiece from Katie Mackay and Hannah MacDonald.

From commanding performances to nail-biting finishes, this weekend once again captured the drama, talent and spirit of shinty across the country.
