Road improvement works along a section of the A861 route in Lochaber are progressing well.

The A861 Rubha Dearg – Camusnagaul road resurfacing works started on 3 November and has involved the surfacing of unbound passing places and adjacent overlays as well as other improvement works.

Chair of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Ken Gowans said:

“The local roads team have been working hard to get the improvement works completed before winter arrives.

“The work will make a difference to drivers and allow more opportunities to safely overtake slow moving traffic.

“The team have tried to keep any disruption to a minimum and will continue to do so until the works are completed.”

Improvements works are now approximately 50% done and should be fully complete by Friday 8 December.
