Detectives are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set alight in Drumnadrochit in the early hours of Wednesday, 15 October 2025.
The blaze, involving a black Renault Arkana, was reported at about 5.10am on Achmony Road and was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with no injuries reported.
Police have opened an enquiry and are treating the incident as wilful fire.
Officers say the vehicle was alight at a property in the Achmony Road area and that enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Constable Dugdale, leading the investigation, urged anyone with information to come forward.
“Thankfully no one was injured as a result of this reckless act,” Detective Constable Dugdale said.
He added that members of the public who noticed anything suspicious around the time of the incident should contact officers.
“Additionally, if anyone has any private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage which may assist, please get in touch,” Detective Constable Dugdale said.
Police have asked anyone with information to call 101, quoting reference 0399 of 15 October, 2025.
Those with footage who prefer not to speak directly to officers can still pass material to police through the usual evidence submission channels.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene promptly and left after ensuring the vehicle and surrounding property were safe.
No further fire-related damage to nearby buildings has been reported at this stage.
Police enquiries continue and investigators are reviewing CCTV from the vicinity and speaking to potential witnesses.
Officers said they will follow any leads and urged anyone with even small details to come forward as it may help the investigation.
Sharing dash-cam or doorbell footage has previously helped secure valuable lines of inquiry in similar investigations.
