Discover the Joy of Meeting Father Christmas!

In a year full of change, one thing remains certain – Father Christmas and his elves are at Eastgate Shopping Centre!

In aid of the Highland Hospice and located next to their café, In the City, Santa is in residence in his magical Grotto until Sunday 20th December.

Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, a COVID-safe environment has been created which will allow youngsters to see and talk to Santa as he sits on his sleigh.

To add to the excitement of meeting the big man himself, the gifts will be delivered down a slide!

Kirstin Gault, Eastgate’s Digital and Marketing Executive said:

“Here at the Centre, we very much look forward to celebrating Christmas with our customers.

“We know how special it is for families to meet Santa and share those all-important Christmas wishes.

“Although the festive season is going to be a little different this year, we’re are very grateful that the Highland Hospice will be hosting this charming experience for our littlest visitors and their families, whilst also raising much needed funds for the charity.”

The Highland Hospice is asking for a minimum donation of £5.00 for each child to visit Santa – this also includes a gift.

Visits are bookable in 5-minute slots, with a maximum of two children per slot.

Families with three or more children are required to book two consecutive slots.

A photo service will not be available this year, but parents and carers are welcome to take their own photo in return for an additional donation.

For those who wish to share their image on social media, the use of #HighlandHospiceGrotto is encouraged.

Jenna Hayden, Community and Events fundraiser for Highland Hospice, said:

“We are delighted to work alongside Eastgate Shopping Centre again this year at Santa’s Grotto and being able to spread a little joy at Christmas time.

“We have made sure that not only will the grotto be a safe and socially distanced environment for everyone, but more importantly it will still be a magical Christmas experience.

“We are so grateful to Eastgate for their continued support of Highland Hospice and know that this year’s grotto will be a huge success.”
