Cloddach Bridge Height Restriction Returns

Height restriction barriers on the Cloddach Bridge, near Birnie, will return next week, Moray Council has confirmed.

A weight limit of three tonnes, combined with a two-metre height limit, was recently introduced to protect the weak structure from overloading by heavy traffic.

The original barriers were seriously damaged by repeated collisions shortly after installation, resulting in them being removed for repairs.

The barriers are to be re-installed week beginning Monday 4 October with additional high-visibility signage.

The intention is to prevent collision damage reoccurring.

If it does the Council is warning drivers that other options will be considered, including potential closure of Cloddach Bridge to all users.
