“Tha an dreuchd seo a’ tabhann deagh chothrom a bhith a’ meudachadh agus a’ comharrachadh obair nam buidhnean sin bho Bharraigh gu Rubha Robhanais, agus tha mi a’ coimhead air adhart ri bhith ag obair còmhla ris na buill againn gus leudachadh amasan agus rùintean inntinneach an Fhòraim.”

Outer Hebrides Heritage Forum appoints Development Officer

Comann Dualchas Innse Gall, the Outer Hebrides Heritage Forum, is pleased to announce it has appointed Jasmine Montgomery Wilkie as its Development Officer.
Jasmine holds a Master’s degree with Distinction from St Andrews University in Museum & Gallery Studies and has worked in the Outer Hebrides for the last three years.
She will be based at office 5, Kinloch Community Hub in Balallan, Isle of Lewis, for the duration of her two-year post.
Comann Dualchas Innse Gall, established in 2018, is an umbrella organisation which represents 30 heritage organisations throughout the Western Isles.
Its key aims are to enable community heritage organisations in the Outer Hebrides to work collaboratively and to pool knowledge.
Since its inception, the Forum has been working closely with local authority Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Museums Galleries Scotland.
In the newly created role of Development Officer, Jasmine will support members of the Forum to unlock the potential of the community heritage sector in the Outer Hebrides, encouraging the sustainability and resilience of these organisations.
Speaking on her appointment to the role, Jasmine said:
“I am thrilled to have been appointed to the post of Development Officer with the Outer Hebrides Heritage Forum.
“I have strong and demonstrable understanding and passion for community heritage, evidenced in my personal, academic and working lives, and I am keen to apply both my theoretical understanding and practical skills to this role.
“We have such rich tangible and intangible heritage in the Western Isles and many excellent examples of organisations working tirelessly to sustain and preserve it.
“The post offers a great opportunity to maximise and further highlight the work of these organisations situated from Barra to the Butt of Lewis, and I am looking forward to working with our members to further the exciting aims and aspirations of the Forum.”
She added:
“Please do keep an eye out for our forthcoming digital presence.
“Our newly designed website and social media channels will shortly be live, and these will represent one of the most effective ways to keep abreast of the activities of both the Forum and its members.”
