The Corran Ferry Service – The MV Corran is operating as normal while her support vessel, the Maid of Glencoul is undergoing her annual refit overhaul.

The overhaul and steering system repair are progressing well and following inspection, repairs to the hull will also be carried out whilst in dry dock.

Completion of the additional repair works is expected mid-July.

Regular updates will continue to be issued to the Corran Ferry Stakeholder Group as the repair work continues.

Economy and Infrastructure Committee Chair, Cllr Ken Gowans said:

“The Maid of Glencoul annual refit overhaul and steering system repair is progressing well, and steel replacement work was agreed to be carried out to the hull of the vessel whilst out of the water.

“While this may mean an extended period to allow this level of repair work to be carried out, it is worth it to ensure that she returns to Corran in the very best possible condition before returning to service.

“We have always been committed to bringing the Maid of Glencoul back to service as a support vessel for the MV Corran and will continue to keep stakeholders updated on the repairs progress.”

The MV Corran is operating as normal and the timetable details and other information is available here
