Emma Roddick MSP hosted a Cost-of-Living Support Event on Wednesday (28 August) at the Spectrum Centre in Inverness with several local organisations in attendance to provide help and advice to the public, with attendees describing it as a “great success”.
The event, which was run as a drop-in across the afternoon, saw local organisations networking with one another and folk could pop in for support with an issue they were facing or just to hear more about what the organisations do.
Speaking on the success of the event, Emma said:
“It was great to come together with some fantastic organisations across Inverness to show folk what support is available in Inverness.
“It was brilliant to see the organisations in attendance networking with one another and exchanging details of upcoming events.
“At the end of the day, we all have the same goal, which is to support folk and give them the help they need, so I am so glad the organisations at the event benefitted from speaking to one another in person.
“I was also glad to pick up quite a few cases across the afternoon, especially as it was from folk who I just don’t think would’ve reached out if it wasn’t for the event.
“That is what I am trying to do – connect with people who are harder to reach and wouldn’t necessarily write in.
“I am looking forward to seeing how we can make these events even more accessible and reach even more people in future.
“I want to say a big thank you to all the Spectrum Centre and all the organisations who attended to make the event so successful.”
