Council Calls on Young Gaelic-Speakers to Apply for Comms Job

The Highland Council is seeking a Gaelic-speaking graduate to assist the organisation’s Corporate Communications and Gaelic Teams in raising the Council’s online Gaelic profile.

People under the age of 25 with a qualification at HND level or above – and who are proficient in spoken and written Gaelic – are being invited to apply for a Graduate Intern – Corporate Communications and Engagement Officer post.

The successful applicant will be resident in the Highland Council area for the duration of their employment and could work from a Highland Council office or their home depending on personal circumstances.

Gaelic Committee Chair Cllr Calum Munro said: 

“This is a fantastic opportunity for a young person interested in a career in digital communications.

“They will receive on-the-job training and support from our communications and Gaelic officers and will have a real chance to make a difference to how the Council’s engages with the Gaelic community.

“Even if you are thinking about applying and are unsure – I urge any young Gaelic speakers to put an application in and don’t miss this great opportunity.

Leader of the Council and Vice Chair of the Gaelic Committee Cllr Raymond Bremner added:
