The countdown is on for one of the liveliest nights of the festive season as Inverness Town House prepares to host a Christmas comedy party that promises laughter, mischief and a proper Highlands night out.

Next Saturday on 6 December the historic venue will open its doors for an evening that brings together five Highland comedians whose names have become part of the region’s growing comedy scene and whose reputations for delivering unforgettable nights continue to grow.

At the heart of the show is Rude and Good, a double act known for their quick fire chaos and their ability to take an audience from polite chuckles to full blown belly laughs in minutes.

Joining them are three performers who have each stamped their mark on stages across Scotland with sharp writing, fearless storytelling and an instinct for reading a room.

Big Rab Mulheron brings decades of experience and the kind of swagger that only comes from being called the Godfather of Adult Comedy.

Tom Cairns arrives as Inverness Comedian of the Year with a style that mixes warm charm with razor precision as he digs into everyday life in the Highlands.

Stephen Clark continues his rise as one of the most promising names in the local scene bringing clever observations and a natural stage presence that has already earned him a loyal following.

Matt Black returns to the Town House after a breakthrough year that saw him voted Best Comedian at the Aberdeen Fringe in 2024 and perform to packed rooms far beyond the Highlands.

Joe Sweeney rounds off the line up with the dry wit and sharp timing that earned him Best Joke at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022 and a place among the most recognisable performers in the region.

Together they offer a night that feels less like a traditional Christmas event and more like a welcome escape from limp buffets and forced cheer with the Town House hosting a licensed bar and the promise of a proper party atmosphere.

The show has been built as an antidote to the weary office night out and the organisers say audiences can expect a blend of big characters, bold stories and festive mayhem in a setting that suits comedy at its lively best.

The event follows a run of successful shows through the year and organisers say demand has been strong with many people choosing it as their main Christmas night out with friends family or colleagues.

With the show now only days away and tickets already selling steadily the message from performers and organisers is simple: if you want to be part of it then move quickly.

This is a night built for the Highlands by Highland performers and there is a growing sense that Inverness is ready for an evening that celebrates local talent and brings people together at the end of a long year.

A Christmas night out should feel like a reward not an obligation and this event offers the chance for a proper laugh in good company with five comedians who know exactly how to lift a room.

Tickets are £15 plus booking fee and available through Skiddle with doors opening at 7.30pm on 6 December at Inverness Town House.
