A Highland charity is inviting women and non-binary people with ADHD to take a breath, slow down and reconnect at a full-day retreat designed with neurodivergent minds in mind.
The Dose of Dopamine Retreat, created by Inverness-based charity Dopamine Dolls, offers a nurturing space for calm, creativity and connection.
Set in the peaceful surroundings of Anam Cara on the outskirts of Inverness, the retreat will run on Saturday 19 July from 10am to 4.30pm.
This carefully crafted event features a series of relaxed, hands-on workshops, including printmaking with Black Water Print Studio, gentle movement with Christie Wood Yoga, and macramé plant hanger making with Annie & The Hooks.
A catered lunch and all materials are included in the £95 ticket price.
Organisers say the day is designed for people who often find traditional wellness spaces overwhelming or inaccessible.
“This is all about slowing down and tuning in,” said Ashley Hope, CEO and co-founder of Dopamine Dolls.
“For so many of us with ADHD, life is a constant effort to manage noise, expectations and overstimulation.”
“We wanted to create a day that allows people to step away from all of that to feel held, heard and creatively nourished.”
Dopamine Dolls was founded by Ashley Hope and Isla Urquhart in response to their own experiences of living with ADHD, both before and after diagnosis.
What began as a grassroots support group has grown into a vibrant, inclusive community offering creative events, peer support and shared spaces for women and non-binary people across the Highlands.
This retreat marks a milestone for the charity, which has become a lifeline for many.
The day includes plenty of time for rest, snacks and quiet connection, with the number of participants kept deliberately small to maintain a gentle, welcoming atmosphere.
It’s open to anyone over 18 who identifies as a woman or non-binary and has ADHD whether formally diagnosed or self-identified.
“We’ve worked really hard to keep this affordable,” said Ashley.
“You’re getting a full day of creative experiences that, individually, would cost just as much and it also supports the skilled facilitators who are giving so much of themselves.”
Spaces are limited, and early booking is recommended.
For those who crave calm in a world that rarely slows down, this retreat offers just the right dose of dopamine.
