Knockhill Racing Circuit will host a 24 hour cycling challenge this summer as riders take to the famous track to raise money for Scottish Action for Mental Health.
The event will take place from 7pm on Thursday 2 July to 7pm on Friday 3 July 2026 with up to 100 cyclists expected to take part.
Instead of the roar of superbikes and touring cars, the circuit will echo to the sound of riders pushing themselves around the demanding course through day and night.
Participants will cycle continuously for 24 hours tackling the circuit’s well known corners and hills in a test of endurance and determination.
The event returns after a 12 year break and organisers say the challenge is expected to attract teams as well as individual riders.
Cyclists will be able to enter as solo competitors or as part of teams of two or four riders sharing the effort across the full day.
All money raised during the event will support Scottish Action for Mental Health.
Olympic and world medal winning cyclist Jack Carlin is supporting the event as figurehead and representative for the charity.
Carlin recently visited Knockhill to experience the circuit and its rolling climbs ahead of the challenge.
Stuart Gray, Director of Events at Knockhill, said the circuit will provide a unique and demanding setting for the charity ride.
“We are normally known for anything with an engine but this time it is muscle power and endurance that will be to the fore as riders tackle our famous track.
“Being early July and close to the longest day it will be dark around 11pm and light around 4am adding to the interest and challenge of the event.
“Previously Mark Beaumont, Graham Obree and Kenny Logan have been ambassadors but for the fourth running of the event SAMH have teamed up with Jack Carlin.
“It was an honour to have him here and we look forward to welcoming him and the participants in July.”
The event will provide full support for riders throughout the challenge including food, camping and timing systems to track progress.
Participants will receive hot food and snacks throughout the 24 hour event along with a camping slot at the circuit.
Riders will also be provided with thermal blankets, a timing chip, a SAMH t shirt and a team challenge photograph.
Each participant who completes the event will receive a finisher’s medal.
Entrants will also be invited to a training evening at Knockhill Racing Circuit before the event takes place.
The initial entry fee is £75 and riders are encouraged to raise at least £750 in sponsorship for the charity.
Anyone interested in taking part can find further details through the SAMH fundraising events page or by contacting the charity directly.
