Several drivers across the Highlands have been arrested in recent days for drink and drug driving, as well as speeding at reckless levels.
The latest figures follow a week of targeted road patrols across the region.
Four motorists were arrested for drink driving, including two who were found to be more than five and six times over the legal limit.
Another three drivers were arrested after testing positive for drugs behind the wheel.
Police also stopped four motorists for speeding on the A9, one of them clocked at over 130mph in heavy rain.
Officers said conditions on the road that day made the speed especially dangerous.
The arrests come as concern grows over driving behaviour on Highland roads, particularly in late summer when traffic is heavy and roads are busy with locals, tourists, and freight vehicles.
Constable Scott Smith of the Highlands and Islands Road Policing Unit said:
“This kind of driving puts everyone at risk, not just those behind the wheel.
“Our job is to stop it before someone gets seriously hurt.”
Officers are expected to continue high-visibility patrols in the days ahead, focusing on known speeding hotspots and rural roads where collisions are more likely to be fatal.
Communities across the region have repeatedly raised concerns about speeding and drink driving, particularly in more remote areas where police presence can be limited.
