Ducati Unveils Most Extreme Road Bike in its History

Ducati has revealed its most advanced and uncompromising road legal motorcycle to date, marking a defining moment as the Italian manufacturer celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The Superleggera V4 Centenario is a limited edition machine, with just 500 individually numbered bikes produced worldwide, positioning it as one of the most exclusive motorcycles ever built.

Created with complete engineering freedom, the bike represents the absolute peak of Ducati’s technological ambition, combining motorsport innovation with road legal performance.

At its heart is a newly developed Desmosedici Stradale R 1100 engine, producing 228 horsepower in standard form and rising to 247 horsepower when fitted with its track configuration.

That output, paired with an exceptionally low weight, delivers one of the most extreme power to weight ratios ever achieved in a production motorcycle.

Weight reduction has been central to the design, with Ducati using carbon fibre extensively across the entire chassis, including the frame, swingarm, subframes and wheels.

The result is a wet weight of just 173 kilograms, dropping further when equipped with its racing components.

The Superleggera V4 Centenario also introduces several world firsts, including the use of carbon ceramic brake discs on a road legal motorcycle.

This technology, more commonly found in elite motorsport and high performance automotive engineering, offers reduced weight, improved heat resistance and greater braking consistency under extreme conditions.

Suspension has also been taken to new levels, with a carbon fibre sleeved front fork and advanced rear shock system derived directly from racing.

These components are designed to improve responsiveness, stability and rider confidence, particularly under high speed and demanding conditions.

Every detail of the motorcycle has been engineered with precision, from titanium components within the engine to the meticulous balancing of performance and control.

The electronics package reflects Ducati’s racing pedigree, offering a suite of rider aids and control systems adapted from MotoGP to maximise both performance and safety.

Visually, the Superleggera V4 Centenario carries a striking identity, finished in a deep Rosso Centenario colour scheme inspired by Ducati’s heritage.

The design links past and present, drawing on the brand’s racing history while showcasing modern engineering and materials.

Each motorcycle is delivered in a bespoke presentation case and includes a range of additional equipment designed for track use, reinforcing its status as both a collector’s piece and a performance machine.

For a select number of owners, Ducati is also offering a dedicated track experience, providing the opportunity to explore the bike’s capabilities under expert guidance.

The Superleggera range has always been about pushing boundaries, and the Centenario continues that tradition by redefining what is possible in a road legal motorcycle.

It is not simply a product, but a statement of intent from a manufacturer that has spent a century chasing performance, precision and innovation.
