In the heart of Skye, a beloved restaurant has once again shown its deep affection for the local community.
The Three Chimneys, nestled near Dunvegan, has raised an impressive £12000 for the Scottish Ambulance Service team based in the village.
Each year, the restaurant’s staff gather to select a local cause that will benefit from the generosity of their guests.
Between 2024 and early 2025, diners at The Three Chimneys were invited to add a voluntary donation to their bill, with this year’s focus on supporting the vital work of the local ambulance service.
The funds raised will provide a meaningful boost to the team at Dunvegan Ambulance Station, who deliver life-saving care and patient transport across Skye, Lochalsh and Raasay.
Rachael Jackson, Paramedic Clinical Team Leader for the area, expressed heartfelt thanks for the donation.
“We are delighted to have received such generous support from a local business and are very grateful to The Three Chimneys,” she said.
“This donation will help us to purchase equipment and support ongoing training opportunities for our crews.
“This investment will strengthen the robust and dedicated service that the Scottish Ambulance Service provides to our community.”
The restaurant’s General Manager, Kieran Walker, paid tribute to both the staff and the diners who made the fundraising possible.
“Thanks to the generous donations of our guests, we are committed to providing ongoing fundraising support to local charities and communities on the island,” he said.
“This year we have raised over £11905 for our local ambulance station here in Dunvegan.
“The team do an incredible job providing emergency medical services and patient transport for our community.
“Fundraising like this helps them continue enhancing this vital public service, which we are extremely grateful for.”
The Three Chimneys has a proud tradition of supporting Skye’s local charities.
In previous years, the restaurant has raised funds for organisations including Portree Food Bank and RNLI Portree, reinforcing its role as a much-loved cornerstone of island life.
The partnership between local businesses and emergency services continues to make a real difference, ensuring that communities across Skye have access to essential care when it matters most.
