Emma Roddick MSP has paid a visit to MFR Cash for Kids to support their ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign, which aims to ensure every child in the local area receives a gift this Christmas.

The charity works throughout the year to help families struggling financially, but “Mission Christmas” is their biggest and most recognisable annual appeal.

The SNP MSP was inspired by the charity’s dedication and the generosity of the community.

She said:

“It’s heartbreaking to think of children going without a present at Christmas, not knowing why or understanding that it’s not their fault.

“Cash for Kids is doing incredible work to make sure that doesn’t happen.

“The ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign is a lifeline for so many families in our region, and I was glad to see local support for it again this year; particularly to see the Millburn Academy pupils who popped by while I was there to donate a couple of sacks of presents collected at their Christmas Fayre.”

The SNP MSP donated some polymer clay for creative kids and a Jurassic Park toy, which she hopes will go to a fellow dinosaur enthusiast.

“I picked a few things that I would have loved as a kid, and hope these gifts bring a little bit of joy to someone this Christmas,” she said.

“Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference.”

She has encouraged everyone to get involved in ‘Mission Christmas’ by donating new, unwrapped toys at their local Co-op, if they are able to spare one.

“It’s easy to make a contribution if you are able to spare a gift, however small; let’s work together to make sure every child in the Highlands has a magical Christmas.”
