A drop-in session is being held later this week (Thurs) to give people the chance to find out more about the Knab redevelopment project.

The informal event will give folk the opportunity to meet some of the team behind the redevelopment, and discuss future plans for the site.

Anyone with an interest in the project is invited to Mareel on Thursday 9th May between 4pm and 7pm.

Children will be made very welcome, and activities will be provided to entertain them.

Councillor Dennis Leask chairs the Council’s Development Committee:

“The redevelopment of the Knab, following the relocation of the former Anderson High School, is an ambitious, long-term project which will create a vibrant, thriving space which has community at its heart.

“However, it is important that this community-orientated project delivers for the existing community around the site, as well as the future generations who choose to live there.

“It is with this in mind that we want to have a visible presence throughout the development to allow open dialogue with local residents who want to find out more about the project, or share any concerns.

“Everyone’s warmly welcome to come to our event at Mareel to meet some of the members of our team to discuss the future of this exciting project.”

The event will coincide with a photography exhibition at Mareel by local photographer Dave Donaldson documenting the demolition of Anderson High School and the site’s evolving history.
