Naomi MacIvor has been named as the 46 year old woman who died at a property in Morrison Court, Dornoch, on Saturday 21 February 2026.

Emergency services were called to the address at around 4.40pm and her body was found inside.

Today, beyond the court proceedings and formal statements, a family is grieving the loss of a woman they loved deeply.

Her family is being supported by specialist officers.

They have released the following statement:

“Naomi was a loving mother, auntie, daughter and grand-daughter. She was a friend to everyone. We will never get over losing her. She was taken far too early for such a bright spirit.

“We shall miss her for forever and love her eternally.

The family have asked for privacy to grieve at this difficult time.

A 34 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death, he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday 26 February 2026.

For a small community like Dornoch, news like this carries far beyond one street.

At the centre of this story is not a case number or a court date.

It is a mother, a daughter, an auntie and a friend who, in the words of her family, was taken far too early.
