Nigel Farage’s Reform Party has confirmed its Highlands and Islands regional list candidates for the 2026 Scottish Parliament election, marking the start of its campaign in one of Scotland’s most geographically significant areas.
The list places Vic Currie as the lead candidate for the region, followed by Max Bannerman and Amanda Hampsey.
Also included on the Highlands and Islands list are Fred Campbell, Malcolm McTaggart, Jon Whitton and John Coupland, completing the party’s regional line up.
The announcement forms part of a wider national rollout of candidates as Reform sets out its plans to challenge established parties across Scotland.
The party says its candidates come from a range of professional backgrounds including business, agriculture and public service, and are focused on economic growth and political change.
Reform UK leader Malcolm Offord said:
“We are pleased to finally announce our team of prospective MSPs.
“This is a strong, capable group of people who are ready to take our message directly to the people of Scotland and deliver the change that so many voters are calling for.
“The announcement signals the beginning of an intense campaign period, as Reform UK Scotland sets out its vision to cut taxes, unlock economic growth and deliver practical solutions on the issues that matter most to communities across the country.”
The Highlands and Islands region remains one of the most diverse political battlegrounds in Scotland, covering remote island communities, rural mainland areas and key economic sectors.
Issues such as infrastructure, energy, housing and rural services are expected to dominate the campaign as parties compete for support across the region.
With the election approaching, Reform’s presence on the regional list adds another layer to an increasingly competitive political landscape in the Highlands and Islands.
