Festival season is calling, and with it comes the annual road reshuffle as Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival returns this summer.
The Highland Council has announced a series of temporary traffic restrictions around Kiltarlity to help manage the flow of vehicles heading to and from the festival.
Belladrum is set to run from Thursday 31 July to Saturday 2 August, with traffic measures in place from Thursday 17 July right through to Friday 8 August.
Visitors and local drivers alike are being urged to plan ahead, check their routes and allow extra time for journeys.
Speed limits on sections of the A833 Milton to Phoineas Road will be temporarily reduced to 30mph at various times during the festival period.
A 20mph limit will also apply from Wednesday 30 July to Sunday 3 August, covering the stretch between Wester Phoineas Road and Tomnacross Road.
The A862 near the junction with the A833 will also carry a 30mph speed limit for the duration of the festival weekend.
In addition to slower speeds, several road restrictions will be introduced to keep traffic moving safely and ease pressure on the rural network.
Bog Road (U2346) will be closed to all vehicles between its junctions with the Abriachan to Foxhole Road and the Moniack Bridge to Easter Clunes Road.
Caravans, campervans and trailers will be banned from turning right off Belladrum Road onto the A833 at the southernmost junction near Meg’s Stone.
A one-way system will also operate on Belladrum Road itself, running north to south between the A833 junctions from 5am on Thursday 31 July to midnight on Sunday 3 August.
These changes are designed to help protect local communities, ease traffic congestion and support a safe, well-run event for everyone involved.
Emergency services responding to incidents will still have full access to all affected roads.
Thousands are expected to attend this year’s festival, which continues to be one of Scotland’s best-loved summer gatherings.
By taking note of the changes and driving with care, everyone can help make this celebration of music and culture a little smoother for all.
