The Highland Council has contacted Taxi and Private Hire Operators to invite them to apply for a grant through the Scottish Government’s recently-opened Taxi and Private Hire Operator Support Fund which complements the previous fund that supported taxi drivers.

If you are a Taxi operator, you may be eligible for a grant of between £1,000 – £15,000 depending on the number vehicle licences you hold.

Over 170 applications have been processed since the scheme opened last month but we also know many have yet to respond.

While no deadline has been set by the Scottish Government for when this grant scheme will close, our experience with other grant schemes funded by Scottish Government is that this could take place at short notice, so we urge eligible taxi and private hire Operators to complete and submit the application form and supporting evidence as soon as possible.

Further details on the Taxi and Private Hire Driver and Operator Support Fund can be found on the Scottish Government’s website.
