Four Champions Set to Light Up Knockhill as British Touring Cars Return This August

Scotland’s summer of high-octane action continues as the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship roars back into Knockhill on 16 and 17 August and this year’s line-up is nothing short of world-class.

Four BTCC champions will be on the grid, including Ash Sutton, Tom Ingram, Jake Hill, and Scotland’s own Gordon Shedden, who has made a sensational return to the championship with the factory-backed GR Toyota Corolla team.

The BTCC is one of the toughest and most thrilling saloon car championships in the world.

And nowhere showcases the drama quite like Knockhill, where cars take on the track’s wild elevation changes, tight corners and famous kerbs, sometimes on two wheels.

Fan favourite Shedden is back chasing silverware after a crowd-pleasing victory at Oulton Park in Cheshire, where he took the chequered flag and climbed to 14th in the standings.

Fittingly, he sits on 52 points, matching his race number, and he’ll be aiming to climb even higher when the season resumes at Croft in early August.

But the biggest event of the summer is saved for Knockhill.

The two-day festival will welcome the circuit’s largest crowd of the year, as Shedden is joined on home soil by fellow Scottish drivers Aiden Moffat and Dexter Paterson, bringing extra pride and pace to the grid.

Expect bumper-to-bumper action, roaring engines, and some of the finest racing talent in the UK right here in Scotland.
