Free Family Fun Day To Launch Highland’s Vision 2029 Plan

Families from across the Highlands are being invited to enjoy a free family fun day in Inverness as part of the launch of the new Vision 2029 Children’s Services Partnership Plan.

The event will take place at the Northern Meeting Park on Monday 10 August from 10.30am until 1.30pm, offering a morning of free activities for children of all ages.

Organised by the Highland Children’s Services Partnership, the event aims to celebrate the launch of the new three year partnership plan while bringing together families and the organisations working to support them across the Highlands.

Visitors can enjoy a range of free outdoor activities including Giant Jenga, parachute games and balance bikes, while baby massage sessions will begin from 11am.

The first 500 children attending will also receive a free goodie bag.

Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.

Ian Kyle, Chair of the Children’s Services Partnership Board, said:

“I hope that many families with young children will come along to this fantastic event in Inverness.

“The Children’s Service Partnership Plan 2026-29 was developed by the Children’s Service’s Partnership Board and is an ambitious plan to strengthen links across our communities and which aims to provide much-needed support for families.

“I’m delighted that so many organisations and partners have been able to come together to support families throughout Highland and can now celebrate their achievements with our communities.”

The Vision 2029 plan sets out priorities for supporting children, young people and families across six key areas including poverty, child protection, corporate parenting, drugs and alcohol, health and wellbeing, and children’s rights and participation.

Organisers hope the free event will provide an opportunity for families to enjoy a fun day together while learning more about the support available through organisations working across the Highlands.
