The Inverness Castle Experience has reached another major milestone, welcoming its full team of nearly 90 new staff as preparations begin for its long-awaited opening.
This week marks the start of an intensive induction and training programme designed to equip every member of staff, from visitor services to hospitality with the skills and knowledge to deliver a world-class experience for locals and visitors alike.
The new recruits include part-time, full-time, and seasonal roles across the site, from the Saltire Bistro kitchen team to the retail and operations teams who will help bring the landmark attraction to life.
The Inverness Castle Experience forms part of the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal, a transformative £315 million partnership between the UK and Scottish Governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and the University of the Highlands and Islands, focused on driving sustainable economic growth across the region.
As one of the flagship projects in the deal, the Castle Experience represents a major investment in local employment and skills.
Operational 364 days a year, the attraction will offer stable, flexible opportunities in hospitality, retail, and visitor services, supporting both Inverness city centre and the wider Highland economy.
Councillor Ian Brown, Leader of Inverness and Co-Chair of The Inverness Castle Delivery Group, said welcoming the full team was a landmark achievement.
“Achieving full staffing levels was always one of the biggest challenges in delivering a destination of this scale,” he said.
“The Inverness Castle Experience goes far beyond a visitor attraction, it’s a complete experience, combining culture, hospitality, and retail.
“It’s fantastic to see such a talented team ready to bring warmth, energy, and Highland hospitality to every part of the site.”
Michael Golding, Chair of High Life Highland, said the milestone reflects the project’s deep connection with the local community.
“This is a proud moment for everyone involved in bringing The Inverness Castle Experience to life,” he said.
“As High Life Highland welcomes nearly 90 new members of staff, it highlights the significant local employment opportunities created through this project and the commitment to delivering a first-class experience for residents and visitors alike.”
When it opens, The Inverness Castle Experience will invite visitors to explore, discover, and enjoy stories of the Highlands in a new immersive setting that celebrates the region’s history, culture, and creativity.
The redevelopment has been supported by investment from the Scottish and UK Governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and a range of other partners.
