Job seekers across the Highlands will have a new chance to explore career opportunities as the region’s virtual jobs fair returns from 17 to 21 March 2025.
Following the success of the winter event, The Highland Council’s Employability team has confirmed details of the upcoming fair, designed to connect job seekers with businesses and training providers.
The event is hosted by Work. Life. Highland, in collaboration with The Highland Council, Skills Development Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Department for Work and Pensions, Developing the Young Workforce, and UHI North West and Hebrides.
Cllr Ken Gowans, Chair of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee, highlighted the fair’s value in helping people find new opportunities while supporting local businesses in their search for skilled workers.
He emphasised that the online format allows flexibility, making it accessible to individuals regardless of location or circumstances.
Attendees will be able to engage with employers, ask questions, and explore career paths without needing to travel.
Jennifer Grant, Programme Manager at DYW West Highland, expressed enthusiasm for the event, noting that it enables employers to reach a broad audience while giving job seekers of all ages the chance to connect with businesses in their field of interest.
Spring is an ideal time for job seekers, as many businesses prepare for a busy season and look to strengthen their workforce.
Those interested in changing careers, finding new roles, or returning to work after a break will be able to access online sessions from the comfort of their homes.
A range of employers will be participating, including Balfour Beatty, Cross Reach, RAF, NHS Highland, Norscot, BBM Solicitors, Castle Project, Go Green, CALA, Glenmorangie House, High Life Highland, Highland Home Carers, Careers at Sea, Police Scotland, and The Highland Council.
More businesses are expected to join, offering insights into full-time and part-time positions, apprenticeships, and seasonal work opportunities.
Work. Life. Highland is the public-facing name for the Highland Employability Partnership (HEP), which unites public, private, and third-sector organisations to support individuals in their employment journey.
