Independence Within Reach as Polls Show Majority Possible

The SNP has said a fresh start with independence is within reach as new polling suggests the party could secure a majority in the Scottish Parliament.

Campaign director Angus Robertson issued the warning while urging supporters not to become complacent ahead of the upcoming election.

His comments follow the publication of a Survation poll which projects the SNP could win 64 seats at Holyrood.

The same poll places the Labour Party in third place with 17 seats.

The findings come as parties prepare for the final weeks of campaigning before voters go to the polls.

The SNP has argued that the election represents a significant moment for Scotland’s future direction.

The party says its campaign is focused on issues such as the cost of living and the performance of Scotland’s health service.

Robertson said the opportunity facing the party should not be underestimated.

“A fresh start with independence is there to be won but there is no room for complacency.”

“The scale of the opportunity that lies before us should be lost on no one.”

“Every single vote counts.

“John Swinney’s strong leadership is relentlessly focussed on the priorities of the people of Scotland while Westminster tears itself apart.

“Scandal chaos and infighting is the permanent pattern of that place.

“Poll after poll shows this election presents Scotland with an historic moment and it is one that we cannot let pass us by.

“We know when the SNP wins a majority Westminster is forced to listen.

“The question more and more Scots are asking is do we stay stuck to a broken Brexit Britain that is in terminal decline or can we build a future beyond that.

“Will we take this chance to build Scotland anew.

“That future is within reach through a fresh start with independence.

“That is what is on the ballot in May.”

The Scottish Parliament election campaign is expected to intensify in the coming weeks as parties set out competing visions for Scotland’s future.
