An evening of music, dancing and generosity is returning to Inverness next month as the Moonlight Ball prepares to bring a little magic into the lives of children and families across the Highlands.
The annual fundraiser takes place at the Drumossie Hotel on Friday 6 November, with tickets now on sale for what promises to be another memorable evening in support of The Archie Foundation.
Now in its eighth year, the Moonlight Ball has become a popular fixture in the Inverness social calendar, bringing people together for a celebration with a purpose that extends far beyond the ballroom.
Last year’s event raised more than £100,000, helping Archie provide practical and emotional support to babies, children and families facing difficult times.
Organised by Mary Nimmo and Jacqueline Brown of Munro and Noble Solicitors and Estate Agents, this year’s ball will have a Winter Wonderland theme.
Guests can look forward to dinner, dancing and entertainment, with Kenny Smith taking on the role of master of ceremonies and live music from Mojo Switch.
A raffle and games will offer further opportunities to contribute towards the charity’s work.
Mary and Jacqueline are also the driving force behind the popular Prosecco Picnic for Archie, another event that has helped bring people together in support of Highland families.
Mary said:
“Don’t miss your chance to be part of a night that promises to be truly out of this world.
“The Ball is about bringing people together, having a wonderful night and, most importantly, making a real difference to children and families supported by The Archie Foundation.
“We have lots planned for this year’s event and we’re looking forward to making it a night to remember.
“We hope everyone will come along, get into the spirit of the occasion and help us make this year’s event shine even brighter.”
Money raised will support Archie’s work throughout the Highlands, including its involvement with the Highland Children’s Unit.
As Christmas approaches, that support takes on particular significance for children and families who will spend part of the festive season in hospital.
Archie helps provide presents, activities and thoughtful touches that can bring comfort and happiness during what may otherwise be a worrying time.
The charity also recognises hospital staff working throughout the festive period, providing treats as a gesture of appreciation for their care.
Neil McGregor, fundraising and business development manager at Archie in the Highlands, said:
“We’re so grateful to Mary and Jacqueline for organising such a stand-out event year after year.
“The support of events like the Moonlight Ball makes a real difference, helping us create special moments and bring a little magic to children and families when they need it most.
“If you’re a business looking to support a worthy cause or want to gather friends and family to dance in the moonlight, we would encourage you to secure your space now.”
With last year’s fundraising total setting an impressive example, organisers are hoping Inverness businesses, families and friends will once again support an evening that combines a good night out with a genuinely worthwhile cause.
Tickets cost £100 per person or £1,000 for a table of 10.
