Inverness Museum and Art Gallery (IMAG) joined the High Life Highland bounceback campaign when it reopened to the public at 10:30 am on Tuesday 4th August.

Operations Manager Lesley Junor said:

“We are delighted to be able to welcome back visitors to the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery as part of our bounceback campaign.

“Our priority is the safety of our staff and customers, while still providing an enjoyable experience when people come to visit.

“We are introducing a range of measures to ensure this as far as possible including asking customers to follow social distancing guidelines and asking customers to wear a face covering during their visit.”

The museum will be open Tuesday to Saturday each week from 10:30am to 4:00pm with last entry at 3:00pm.

Enhanced cleaning has been introduced and will take place between 1:00pm and 1:45pm.

Customers will have to pre-book a time slot online for arrival to avoid congestion and reduce queuing times at the entrance.

Lesley Junor continued:

“We have tried to make the experience as close to “business-as-usual” as we can.

“The museum hosts a fascinating range of artefacts and collections that celebrate Highland life and heritage for visitors to view.

“We have introduced a one-way system to allow different households to maintain social distancing guidelines and still enjoy what the museum has to offer.”

Steve Walsh, Chief Executive concluded:

“Our staff have been working extremely hard behind the scenes getting ready to welcome our customers back, IMAG reopening is another step in our bounceback campaign and a big part of the local community offering supporting tourism providers in the area.”
