The Skoda Elroq has added another major industry accolade after being named Car of the Year 2026 by Company Car and Van.

The electric SUV secured the overall title at the annual Company Car and Van of the Year Awards, held this month in Milton Keynes.

Judges praised the Elroq for its combination of quality, driving range, practicality, and value for money in one of the most competitive segments of the market.

The award marks the first major honour of 2026 for the Elroq, following a strong run of industry recognition throughout last year.

Company Car and Van editor Andrew Walker said the decision reflected how well the model performs across multiple criteria rather than excelling in just one area.

“In our toughest category, the Skoda Elroq came out on top.

“Put simply it’s a beautifully built and well thought out electric SUV that comes with a good range of battery sizes, some clever storage solutions and Skoda’s new Theme interiors which lift the cabin above the norm.”

Walker said the Elroq stood out not just for its engineering but for how well it fits into everyday life for drivers and fleet users.

He also highlighted the vehicle’s competitive pricing within the electric SUV market.

“The entry level Elroq 60 offers C SUV practicality at a B SUV price, so it saves on the pennies.

“Not many cars have the wow factor especially a mid sized electric SUV, but the Elroq definitely has the wow.”

Since its launch last year, the Elroq has built a strong reputation across both private and business motoring sectors.

It has already been named overall Car of the Year by Auto Express, reinforcing its appeal to mainstream buyers.

What Car? recognised the model as Family Electric SUV of the Year, highlighting its space, comfort, and suitability for everyday use.

Business Car awarded the Elroq Medium SUV of the Year, reflecting its popularity with fleet managers and company car drivers.

The sporting flagship of the range, the 340 PS vRS model, has also attracted attention.

It was named Car of the Year by Sunday Times Driving, underlining the breadth of the Elroq line up and its appeal beyond purely practical considerations.

Industry observers say the growing list of awards places the Elroq firmly among the leading electric SUVs currently available in the UK market.

With strong performance across private sales, family use, and fleet adoption, the model is increasingly being seen as a benchmark in its class.
