A new automotive brand has broken through the noise of the UK car market, with JAECOO recording the fastest growth of any mainstream manufacturer seen in the past ten years.
Figures released this week by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show JAECOO registered 28,232 new vehicles in 2025, just a year after launching in the UK, marking a rare and rapid rise in a fiercely competitive sector.
Leading that surge was the JAECOO 7, which accounted for 26,048 registrations and finished the year as the fourth most popular retail car in the UK, a remarkable outcome for a model introduced only months earlier.
Demand has been driven largely by private buyers, who made up 55% of all JAECOO registrations, reflecting growing consumer confidence in the brand’s blend of pricing, specification and design.
Of those choosing the JAECOO 7, 70% opted for the Super Hybrid System variant, offering a combined driving range of up to 745 miles, including 56 miles of electric-only driving, alongside rapid charging and self-charging capability.
The success comes as UK motorists continue to weigh rising living costs against the need for reliable, future-ready vehicles, with hybrid and electrified options proving increasingly attractive outside of full battery-electric ownership.
JAECOO’s UK footprint has expanded quickly to support that demand, with the OMODA&JAECOO retail network now standing at 101 dealerships nationwide, ensuring access to sales, servicing and aftercare as volumes grow.
The brand’s momentum has also been reinforced by strong public visibility, with JAECOO named the most searched Chinese car brand on Google in 2025 and recognised as Carwow Brand of the Year, underlining how quickly awareness has translated into sales.
Speaking after the figures were confirmed, Gary Lan, CEO of JAECOO UK, said:
“Our 2025 results underline the strength of our strategy and the appeal of our products. The JAECOO 7’s performance demonstrates that UK drivers respond to vehicles that combine innovation, design, and practicality.”
He added that the brand’s focus in 2026 will be on expanding both its model line-up and aftersales capabilities, including the launch of the larger JAECOO 8, while continuing to build long-term trust with customers.
All JAECOO models sold in the UK come with a seven-year or 100,000-mile warranty, alongside an eight-year battery warranty where applicable, a move designed to reassure buyers still cautious about newer market entrants.
Prices currently start from £30,115 for the JAECOO 7, £35,165 for the hybrid SHS variant, £24,505 for the recently launched JAECOO 5, and £27,505 for the all-electric JAECOO E5.
With more than 26,000 JAECOO vehicles now on UK roads, the brand enters 2026 with momentum few new manufacturers have achieved, positioning itself as a serious contender in the mainstream SUV market.
