Scottish Labour’s candidate for the Inverness Central by-election , Dr Michael Gregson has said he is delighted that other candidates have now joined the election campaign and are making their pitch to voters.

Michael Gregson said:

“I have been pounding the pavements in this ward for nearly a month now, along with a team of local volunteers.

“We have been talking to hundreds of voters and listening to what they have to say.

“It’s good to see that other candidates have now joined the fray, and I look forward to bumping into them on the campaign trail.

“As Inverness grows and changes, there are many challenges, and I want to work with the people of Inverness Central to meet these challenges.

“Like me, they will find that folk are more than happy to have their say.

“For me personally, it’s a meaningful experience with a lot of fond memories.

“From South Kessock, where I spent a lot of time in my job with the Open University, and helped with a tree planting project back in 1989, to the Crown and the Hill areas where, as District Councillor for St Stephen’s in the 90s, I helped establish the Community Council, I’ve enjoyed working constructively with others.

“So, yes, I welcome other candidates to this by-election campaign, and I look forward to a fair-minded, positive and constructive campaign that allows the people of Inverness Central to make their views known and help identify how we can make Inverness an even better place.”
