Chaidh Latha Ionnsachadh Gàidhlig Teaghlaich fìor shoirbheachail a chumail ann am Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar air Disathairne 25 Gearran airson Seachdain na Gàidhlig.

Ghabh còrr is 60 neach pàirt san latha.

Bha na h-oidean Gàidhlig ainmeil Pàdruig Moireach, Ailig (Bhaltois) Dòmhnallach agus Coinneach Lindsay ann gus na clasaichean Gàidhlig a stiùireadh agus iad air an tabhann aig diofar ìrean gus freagairt air feumalachdan eadar-dhealaichte pàrantan nan sgoilear.

Thug na h-oidean seachad cuideachadh do na pàrantan leis a’ Ghàidhlig seach gu bheil e cudromach gun urrainn dhaibh tuilleadh taic a thoirt dhan cuid chloinne le bhith ag ionnsachadh is a’ leasachadh nan sgilean cànain aca fhèin.

Fhad ’s a bha na pàrantan an lùib nan leasan, bha spòrs aig a’ chloinn is iad a’ gabhail pàirt ann an grunn chleasan a leithid togail bhothain, geamaichean dràma, agus ealain is làmh-chiùird.

Thàinig an latha gu crìch le Daibhidh Walker, an cleasaiche cliùiteach, a’ stiùireadh na cloinne gus pìos goirid dràma a chluiche dha na teaghlaichean air fad.

Chòrd an latha glan ris a h-uile duine agus bha iad uile a’ faighneachd, “Cuin a bhios an ath thachartas ann?!”

Thuirt an Comhairliche Calum Rothach, Cathraiche Comataidh Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd:

“Tha e math fhèin gun do chuir Sgioba na Gàidhlig an tachartas air dòigh agus seo mar phàirt de ghrunn thachartasan a bha a’ comharrachadh Seachdain na Gàidhlig.

“Bu mhath leam cuideachd an cothrom seo a ghabhail taing a thoirt do sgoilearan is do thidsearan airson pàirt a ghabhail fad na seachdain.

“Bha e na adhbhar misneachd a bhith a’ faicinn na h-uimhir de thachartasan Gàidhlig is cultair air na meadhanan sòisealta uile.”

Lean e air adhart:

“Tha mi mar-thà a’ coimhead air adhart ri Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2024.”

Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar Gaelic Family Learning Day

A highly successful Gaelic Family Learning Day took place in Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar on Saturday 25 February as part of Seachdain na Gàidhlig (World Gaelic Week) where more than 60 people took part.

Well known Gaelic tutors Peter Murray, Alec (Valtos) MacDonald and Kenny Lindsay were present to lead Gaelic classes which were offered at a range of levels to meet the varying learning needs of the parents of children who attend the school.

The tutors provided learning assistance to parents with their Gaelic as is important to enable them to further support their children with their language learning and development.

While parents were enjoying their Gaelic lessons, the children were having fun taking part in a host of Gaelic activities including den-building, drama games, and arts and crafts.

The day ended with David Walker, the well-known Gaelic actor leading the children in a short drama event which they performed for the families.

Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the day and departed asking “When will the next event take place?!”

Councillor Calum Munro, Chair of the Highland Council’s Gaelic Committee said:

“It’s great that the Gaelic Team organised the event which was one of a suite of events and activities that celebrated Seachdain na Gàidhlig.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank pupils and teachers for engaging and participating in this special celebratory week.

“It was also very encouraging to see so much Gaelic and cultural events on all the social media platforms.”

He continued:

“I’m already looking forward to Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2024”.
