Man Charged Over Wilful Fire at Inverness Property

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deliberate fire in Inverness.

The incident took place late on Sunday 12 October at a residential address on Kessock Avenue, shortly before midnight.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.40pm.

Police Scotland confirmed the arrest and said the man is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday 21 October.

No injuries have been reported, but the extent of the damage to the property has not yet been disclosed.

The road was closed for several hours as emergency crews dealt with the aftermath and officers began enquiries.

The incident is being treated as wilful fire-raising, a criminal offence under Scottish law, which can carry serious penalties including prison time.

Police investigations are ongoing.
