A 21-year-old man is in critical condition in hospital following a serious assault in Inverness on Sunday night.

The incident happened around 11.20pm on 14 September, starting on Madras Street.

The man was later found seriously injured on nearby Telford Street and taken to Raigmore Hospital, where he remains in intensive care.

Police are looking to trace a man seen in the area at the time.

He’s described as being between 5ft 8in and 6ft tall, of medium build, and was wearing dark clothing, including a black padded jacket with a hood and a light-coloured hat, possibly a beanie.

Officers are asking anyone who was in the area around the time of the attack to come forward, particularly if they saw someone matching the description or have dash-cam or doorbell footage from Madras Street or Telford Street that night.

Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and thanked the public for their help so far.

Information can be shared by calling Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3524 of 14 September.
