Dariusz Matejewicz has been jailed for 18 years after being convicted of violent and sexual offences committed against four women and a child over a 15 year period.
Matejewicz, 39, carried out multiple rapes and violent offences between 2007 and 2022 in Inverness, Aviemore, Dingwall and Glenrothes.
He was sentenced at the High Court in Stirling on Tuesday 7 July 2026.
The court also imposed a non harassment order.
Police Scotland said the offences affected four women and one child.
Detective Inspector Gordon Patullo said:
“I hope this sentence brings some comfort to the women and child who were affected by his actions.
“Matejewicz has now been held accountable and will face the consequences of his abhorrent actions.
“I would encourage anyone with concerns about sexual or violent abuse to contact Police Scotland on 101 or one of our support services.”
The case spans incidents that took place over more than a decade across communities in the Highlands and Fife.
Support organisations continue to encourage victims and survivors of abuse to come forward, stressing that reports can be made directly to police or through specialist services.
